The Ibis Budget Enfield is a busy hotel on Sydney’s Hume Highway, which meant the install time would be a challenge during the refit. Clips chosen from the Fastmount Standard Range were the PC-M2H and PC-SF1. The PC-SF1 is an easy to install female clip, requiring only screws to hold the clip in place, while the PC-M2H is the heavy duty version of the original Fastmount male clip, providing a higher pullout load of 10kg.
Rather than attaching the female clip onto the wall, the Reward team chose to install the female clip onto the MDF panel during the CNC process. This not only saved time during install, but also ensured minimal clip damage during transit from the factory to the hotel.
With the panels ready to mount, the next step was to screw the PC-M2H into the composite board that was attached to the concrete wall. The installers could then simply mount the panels, and move onto the next room.
Glenn Cullen, Area Manager at Titus Tekform Sydney comments, “The use of Fastmount dramatically reduced on-site installation time. With the PC-SF1 clip already installed during the CNC process of the MDF panels, the only work required on site was the install of the male clip onto the wall, and to mount the panels.”
“We would definitely use the Fastmount system again for future jobs requiring similar paneling and bedheads,” said Matt Angel from Reward Hotel Projects.
Once installed, the panels gave a sense of continuity throughout the rooms. The panels are now simple to remove and replace in the case of panel damage, or refit in the future.
